Kenya Summer Research Program

For the next two weeks, eight D3 students will be learning a little differently than their classmates- they’ll be in the field as part of the Kenya Summer Research Program (KSRP).  KSRP is funded by Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research  (MICHR) and the School of Dentistry’s Dean’s office.  The two-week long field work in Kenya includes a Community Health Survey, teaching primary and secondary school students, providing oral hygiene instructions, implementing clean water systems at two primary schools and participating in public health seminars.   Some of this fieldwork will be performed in conjunction with Medical, Pharmacy and other students from the University of Michigan as well as with students from the local universities.
